eCarsTrade is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead the next phase of its growth journey. Our online platform is already used by thousands of customers across Europe and we are looking to expand and strengthen these relationships by further building a compelling end-to-end digital solution for the used car industry.
We are looking for a highly analytical and strategic finance leader with a passion for technology who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. From strategy to execution, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion to analyze financial data and turn it into actionable strategic insights, remove inefficiencies wherever they hide, and the grit to make it happen regardless of obstacles.
This role will work closely with the CEO to oversee and improve financial and operational performance, and implement finance-related IT initiatives, while providing data-driven recommendations to further accelerate eCarsTrade’s growth.

This role will work closely with the CEO to oversee and improve financial and operational performance, and implement finance-related IT initiatives, while providing data-driven recommendations to further accelerate eCarsTrade’s growth.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and implement the long term financial strategy and roadmap alongside the CEO
- Lead finance initiatives and provide data-driven, forward-looking recommendations
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, oversee monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting and dashboards (trend and variance analysis)
- Co-develop, implement, and oversee investment plans, annual budgets and coordinate budgeting activities across functions
- Manage cash flows proactively, design and implement tax planning, risk management strategies
- Expand financial planning and analysis using advanced forecasting models
- Manage and automate financial controlling, risk management, treasury and financial reporting activities through future-proof systems, processes and KPI dashboards
- Lead and coordinate finance-related IT projects and initiatives across functions
- Recommend, design and implement improvement and corrective actions, dashboards and KPIs
- Ensure compliance of all financial and treasury activities with regard to applicable, country-specific regulations
- Evaluate and manage capital structure and provide recommendations for fundraising initiatives
- Identify, prioritize, and pursue high-impact process enhancement opportunities across functions with a view to remove inefficiencies and scale faster
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree/MBA in Finance, Business Engineering, Business Accounting or similar field
- 7+ years of relevant experience at a Big 4, corporate and/or venture-backed start-up including 3+ years in an executive leadership role
- International, European experience in a similar environment (e.g. automotive/B2B/online marketplace/SaaS) with intimate knowledge of SaaS/marketplace business models
- Successful experience leading teams and coordinating agile finance/IT projects across functions
- Experience streamlining financial processes in collaboration with technical teams
- Solid understanding of corporate finance, advanced accounting, regulations, tax planning, and fundraising
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and modeling skills
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills in a hybrid remote environment
- Fluency in English and French or Dutch required
