Learn how to recognize phishing and fake proforma invoices

How to tell if your proforma invoice is genuine?

Before you pay, check these 3 things:

  • You downloaded the proforma invoice from your Personal Page.
  • The bank account on your proforma matches the account in General Terms & Conditions.
  • The amount on your proforma matches the car you won.
If you cannot confirm all three points, do not transfer any money. Contact your Account manager first.
We do not send proforma invoices for cars as an email attachment. You need to download them yourself from your Personal Page.

Our official bank account

This is the only account you should use for payments. The IBAN on your proforma needs to match the IBAN listed here and in the General Terms & Conditions.

We never share new bank details by email. If you get an email asking you to pay to a new account, check the General Terms & Conditions or contact your Account manager before transferring any money.

Real proforma vs fake proforma

A real proforma

  • For a car, you download it from your Personal Page.
  • For a service, you may receive it as an email attachment.
  • The IBAN matches our official bank account.
  • The amount matches the car or service.
  • Your Account manager can confirm it.

A fake proforma

  • You receive a car proforma as an email attachment.
  • The IBAN does not match our official bank account.
  • You get an email saying our bank details have changed or pressuring you to pay quickly.
  • Your Account manager cannot confirm it.
We never announce changes to our bank details by email. If you get an email asking you to pay to a new account, check the General Terms & Conditions or contact your Account manager before transferring any money.

Still not sure what to do?

1

Do not make a payment

If you send money to a scammer's account, it is very difficult to get it back. If you are unsure, do not pay.

2

Check with your Account manager

Your Account manager can see what you owe and confirm if the proforma is genuine. You can also reach our support team at [email protected] or +32 (0)2 342 22 22.

3

Forward the suspicious email to us

Send the email with the attachment to your Account manager or [email protected]. This helps us warn other car dealers.
